"The Instructional Systems Track of the Instructional Technology MA Degree Program is designed for prospective and practicing instructional designers, training specialists, multimedia developers and training directors/managers in business, industry, government, or other settings where training, professional development and lifelong learning takes place. Fall 2016

Current Trends in Instructional Technology (6055)
Graduate standing or C.I. Survey of current trends and issues of importance to the field of instructional technology.

Administration of IS (6705)
Provides opportunities for students to examine parameters, problems, and areas of importance in the management of instructional systems.

Instructional Simulations Design in Training and Education (6601)
Integration of ISD methods with simulation systems design, including analysis, design, development and formative evaluation of leading-edge training and educational simulation technologies.

Summer 2016


Multimedia for Education and Training (6507)
In this course, students learn multimedia design principals and apply them in the development of a multimedia design webpage using tools such as Adobe Dreamweaver, Powerpoint, and Audacity.

Fundamentals of Graduate Research (6481)
Students learn different types of research designs, review appropriate statistical procedures, proper research paper structure and organization, and apply this knowledge in developing 3 research proposals.

Research in Instructional Technology (6062)
This course familiarizes students with current literature in instructional technology on a variety of subtopics. Students produce an ebook and an annotated bibliography in addition to discussing numerous other hot topics in within the field.

Spring 2016

Instructional Development and Evaluation (6226)
This course covers part two of 6613 with the development, implementation, and evaluation of the course designed in 6613. In addition, multimedia design principals and web accessibility guidelines are introduced and implemented.

6607 Planned Change in IT (6607)
In this course, students produce a Needs Assessment Report and learn about important theories of change management and implementation. An important lesson from this course is that instruction and training is not always the answer to problems within industry and business.

Fall 2015

Instructional Systems Design (6613)
A fundamental course for the program, students begin with the presentation of the ADDIE model and related instructional design theories, develop a goal, learner, and task analysis, instructional treatment plan, flowcharts, and storyboards for an instructional topic chosen by the student gorup.

Problems in Evaluation in ESOL (6440)-Elective course
The course examined issues of validity and cultural bias in the development of measurement and evaluation instruments. It culminated in a project requiring students to create 2 Assements: a reading writing and a speaking and ilstening test for ESOL students.

Summer 2015

Statistics for Educational Data (6401)
This class covered statistics fundamentals and culminated in a research paper demonstrating the use of SPSS. Student learned how to analyze data sets and interpret data using a variety of statistical procedures

Applied Linguistics in ESOL (6250)-Elective Course
This elective course was taken as part of a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate program.

ESOL Practicum (6940)-Elective Course
This elective course was taken as part of a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate program. I taught 3 classes to Spanish speaking local residents for this Practicum.

Reading and Writing in a Second Language (5376)-Elective Course
This elective course was taken as part of a Teaching English as a Foreign Language Certificate program.
