Accelerated Reader
| During the school year 2012-2013, Meadowbrook Academy implemented the Accelerated Reader program through Renaissance Learning. The Accelerated Reader progam encourages students to choose books that they want to read from a designated reading list
located on the Renaissance Learning website. After completing the
book, students then take a comprehension quiz to test for understanding. As students pass reading quizzes, they earn points toward a pre-set goal, and take part in a celebration each 9 weeks as they reach 100% of their goal. One of the benefits of this independent reading program is that students chose books according to their independent reading level (chart) that they are truly interested in reading. Out of the students at the Academy, approximately 43% met their goal for each of the 9 weeks. Two of our classes consistently met their 100% goal class-wide throughout the entire school year.
