Menus of “The World”

If you have not had the opportunity to dine a Disney restaurant, you're missing half of the "magic". Have a look at the menus below and drop in to taste the tantalizing treats.

I had the thyme-scented pork rack chop with au gratin macaroni, seasonal vegetables, and red wine au jus. As I noted in my review, the food was good but not great. I found the chop to be a touch dry and required liberal dipping in the jus; which isn't a bad thing per se, but it could have been juicer.

For dessert, I had the strawberry cream cheese cupcake. And that is every bit as good as it sounds. The filling on the inside is absolutely delightful, full of strawberry essence, and beautifully presented.

Oh, and I had the gray stuff. It was in fact, as the dishes have indicated, delicious.

I started off with the plateau de fromages de France which translates to French cheese plate. Forgive me as I don't recall the three cheeses that came with this plate but what I can say is that I've tried a lot of French cheese and these were relatively tame in comparison to others I've had. Now in fairness, they are clearly appealing to a broad palette and with that in mind these cheese were certainly delicious even if they weren't necessarily noteworthy.

For the entree, I had the Filet de Saumon – salmon fillet – with the smashed potatoes and pepper sauce. In a word, "Wow". Just awesome. The fish was artfully presented with the sauce complementing the beautiful color of the fish. Normally, I'm a stickler about sauces getting into my potatoes – I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to potatoes – but in this case I didn't mind in the slightest.

Finally for dessert, the Creme Brulee was a classic way to finish a lovely French meal. The carmelized sugar was perfectly bruleed offering a nice crispy and sweet contrast to the subtle yet definitely present vanilla custard below. Perfect way to end a meal coupled with a glass of dessert wine.
