How To Polish Silver: Steps

Step 1

Gather baking soda, aluminum foil, and a container. Cover the container with aluminum foil.

Add baking soda and hot water to the container, then place your jewelry in the solution.

The baking soda and aluminum foil create an electrochemical reaction that transfers the tarnish from the silver to the aluminum foil, effectively cleaning the silver (Science Notes, 2023).

Step 3

When the water is warm and no longer hot, pull the jewelry out and pat it dry.
