Welcome
Congratulations! You're now a Writing Center peer tutor. You might be feeling a little bit apprehensive about tutoring your peers. That's a completely natural feeling to have. Over the next several training shifts, you'll be completing a thorough tutor-training program that will help you feel more comfortable in your new position. This site will serve as your guide as you progress through the program. Start by listening to the welcome message from Nicole Chapman, the coordinator for the Writing Center. Then move on to the materials provided on each page of this site. You'll learn about tutoring best practices, you'll discover strategies for commenting on peer writing, and you'll be directed to resources for additional study.
