 The Cat in the Hat

Reading
The students will read, "The Cat in The Hat"  and discuss the words from the "at" word family that they heard in the story. The students will complete a "Cat in The Hat" craft where they will come up with words from the "at" word family and glue them on the cat's hat.

The students will write a narrative paragraph describing wheather they would tell their mom about the cat in the hat. They will write an alternate ending for the story.
The Lorax

The students will read, "The Lorax"  and discuss the character traits of the The Lorax and The Onceler. The students will complete a character study. They will fill out a venn diagram  to compare/contrast them in small groups.

Language Arts

Reading
The students will read,"Hop on Pop" and discuss rhyming words they heard throughout the story. Student will be given flashcards with rhyming words from the story. They will stand up and do a "mix-pair-share".

Language Arts
The students will create their own story using rhyming words and share.

Math
Students use unifix cubes to measure their hops.
